29 October 2024 – What’s next for bioeconomy education?” workshops series – “VET and Life-long learning perspectives” BioGov.net organised the workshop focusing on “VET and Life-long learning perspectives”. After the presentation of key case studies and good practices, as well as education and policy recommendations stemming from the most relevant EU projects and initiatives involved in VET and Life-long learning, the objective of the workshop was to involve participants in an interactive exercise to co-design educational and policy recommendations to inform the revision of the European Bioeconomy Strategy. 28 October 2024 – What’s next for bioeconomy education?” workshops series – “Pre-University Education and Communication perspectives” GenB organised the workshop focusing on “Pre-University Education and Communication perspectives”. After the presentation of key case studies and good practices, as well as education and policy recommendations stemming from the most relevant EU projects and initiatives in bioeconomy which are involved in pre-university education and communication, the objective of the workshop was to involve participants in an interactive exercise to co-design educational and policy recommendations to inform the revision of the European Bioeconomy Strategy. 1 July 2024 – “BIO2REG expert workshop: Bioeconomy education on a regional basis” Bioeconomy Education approaches from selected EU Funded projects belonging to the EuBioNet were presented in the “BIO2REG expert workshop: Bioeconomy education on a regional basis”, which explored how bioeconomy education can be best tailored to the unique characteristics of each region, considering cultural, economic, geographical, institutional, governmental, community, environmental, and technological factors. 24 May 2024 – Event on bioeconomy education at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers in Rome In celebration of Italian Bioeconomy Day and ahead of the revision of the European and Italian Bioeconomy Strategies, an event on bioeconomy education was organised in collaboration with the “National Coordination Group for Bioeconomy” to share insights from the European Commission, Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) and JRC and leading projects and initiatives in bioeconomy education, followed by a roundtable with national Ministers and regional leaders discussing the critical need for enhanced bioeconomy education. 12-14 March 2024 – Bioeconomy Changemakers Festival On the occasion of the Bioeconomy Changemakers Festival, which has been promoted by the European Commission (DG Research and Innovation) in cooperation with the Bioeconomy Youth Ambassadors, APRE and FVA New Media Research, in the context of the GenB project, ScienzaInsieme, and Cluster Spring have coordinated the Satellite Event – Rome Edition in collaboration with Lazio Innova and Unitelma Sapienza. The Satellite Event “Bioeconomy Changemakers Festival – Rome Edition” involved around 500 students coming from Middle and High Schools in the Region of Lazio. 9 February 2024 – Round table “Challenges and opportunities in VET bioeconomy education” in the context of the Circular Bricks project final event At Unitelma Sapienza, during the round table “Challenges and opportunities in VET bioeconomy education” Susanna Albertini from FVA New Media Research, Chiara Pocaterra, representing APRE, and Annarita Colasante, representing Unitelma, brought contributions from several EU funded projects.
