Cluster Capacity Building Programme – 2022 Edition

Cluster Capacity Building Programme – 2022 Edition

We are proud to announce the second iteration of our Cluster Capacity Building Programme, ready to be rolled out in March/April 2022.

The first edition had over 70 participants, which were able to take part in 10 courses designed to help clusters build their capability to support SMEs in improving their investment readiness level. After the CBP ended, we received valuable feedback from participants and reviewed the lessons learned.

For this year’s edition, we have sharpened the focus of some courses and added a few more. We can now invite all European bio-based clusters to check out our Cluster Capacity Building Programme 2022: 13 courses, designed to help you understand investment readiness level, check if your SME member has covered all their bases to clearly understand and explain their product, service, and business idea, and to help them define the most suitable way to get investment to cross the valley of death towards successful market entry.

Become an associated cluster and benefit from the expert trainings and the networking with bio-based industry clusters from around Europe.

Find out more and register for the courses here.

If you are not yet from an associated cluster, check out the benefits here.

MPowerBIO Co-creation Workshop

MPowerBIO Co-creation Workshop

Help SMEs capture investment: Make your mark on the design of MPowerBIO’s capacity building and business support programme.

Are you an investor, an expert within the bio based industry or a representative from an SME or a cluster, than your input is highly appreciated. Join MPowerBIO’s online co-creation workshop on 29 October to make your mark on the capacity building and business support programme, which are designed to enhance the investment readiness of SMEs.

– “We are seeking input from as many different actors in the field of bio-resources as possible. It can be companies, cluster organizations, market experts and investors. In the end our programmes must ensure that companies capture investment, it is therefore crucial that our business support and training materials are relevant and to the point. Validation from users and experts will give the final quality boost”, says Britt Sandvad, Project Coordinator of MPowerBIO.

MPowerBIO is a European project that has set out to empower 90 clusters within the bio-based industry across Europe to be better equipped to help SMEs overcome the challenge of finding sufficient investment to get from idea to business.

– “By developing an online platform with digital tools our goal is to get 250 SMEs one step closer to capturing investment. And this is where your input and feedback plays an important role”, Britt continues.

– “As an investor, you know what is expected from the SMEs seeking investment, as an SME you know what the typical challenges are and which qualifications are needed, as a cluster you know what the SMEs typically are seeking advice on and so on”.

To enhance the investment readiness of SMEs, MPowerBIO will offer training modules for clusters to be better equipped to help the SMEs. SMEs will be offered concrete tools through this online platform, which will improve the investment readiness and pitching skills. Finally, MPowerBIO will connect SMEs and investors by arranging regional and international events where SMEs have the opportunity to pitch their business plan.

By participating in the workshop you will, together with other experts, have the chance to influence the shape and content of two programmes, which ultimately bring SMEs one step closer to capturing investment. In other words, your input is key in improving the investment readiness of SMEs.

About the workshop
The workshop will be conducted online on 29 October and will run for approximately 2,5 hours. During the workshop, you will be introduced to the proposed concepts and findings so far, which we will need your feedback and thoughts on. Different sessions will run during the workshop to define SMEs curriculum concept and training needs, as well as to establish the services to be delivered by clusters through the business support programme to SMEs.
