From Technology to Application: Bridging Industrial and Urban Bio-waste Valorisation

From Technology to Application: Bridging Industrial and Urban Bio-waste Valorisation

How can innovative technologies help turn biowaste into valuable resources for healthier soils? And what does it take to transfer these solutions from industrial applications to municipal contexts?

BIN2BEAN project supports European cities by promoting innovations that aim to valorise bio-waste and optimising their recycling into soil improvers through innovative and economically viable value chains.

Bin2Bean and the Waste4Soil Project are coming together for a joint peer-learning webinar bringing together technology providers and municipal representatives to exchange practical knowledge and explore opportunities for collaboration.

What’s on the agenda?

  • Technology pitches: novel approaches to transform biowaste into soil imprvoers, including selective electrodialysis for digestate, enzymatic recovery from food residues, nitrification in composting, bio-based products and pyrolysis.
  • Municipal perspectives: bringing their experience on local biowaste streams, feedstock quality, infrastructure, costs and the practical conditions needed to adopt innovative solutions.
  • Spotlight discussion: an exchange on technology transfer, opportunities and barriers, and the potential to scale up solutions for urban biowaste management.
