Bioeconomy stakeholder workshop

The European Commission – DG RTD – Unit B2 “Bioeconomy and food systems” will organize a virtual bioeconomy stakeholder workshop that will take place on 28/10/2021 from 14:00 to 17:00 CET.

This virtual workshop will aim at discussing the input received during the public consultation but also at collecting complementary views.

CONTEXT

In November 2019, the Council of the European Union adopted conclusions on the 2018 updated Bioeconomy strategy and called for the delivery of a progress report by 2022.

The progress report,entitled “European Bioeconomy Policy: Stocktaking and future developments”, will assess the implementation of the 14 actions under the 2018 Bioeconomy strategy and will present preliminary results. lt will also explain how the bioeconomy policy is contributing to the objectives under the Green Deal and explore possible next steps that can reinforce the potentials of the Bioeconomy policy for a sustainable and climate neutral society.

As stakeholders, you have a key role to play and in this process and that is why a public consultation was published online between 12/07/ 2021 and 31/08/ 2021 to gather various feedbacks and points of views. A summary of the feedback analysis will be published online in the coming days.
