Bioeconomy Economics Conference 2026 – Call for abstracts!

Submit your abstract to the Bioeconomy Economics Conference 2026, which will take place on September 28–30, 2026 at the University of Passau, Germany.
Organized by the Bioeconomy Economics Research Group, the conference will bring together researchers exploring the economic and social dimensions of the transition toward a sustainable and circular bioeconomy.

Call for Extended Abstracts – Deadline: May 16, 2026

We welcome contributions on a wide range of topics related to the bioeconomy, including for not limited to:

  • Bio-based innovation, technologies, and transition pathways
  • Preferences, welfare, and distributional effects of bio-based technologies, products, and policy instruments
  • Ecosystem services and biodiversity in the bioeconomy
  • Sustainable land use and rural development
  • Trade, global biomass flows, and sustainability standards.

Opportunities for Early Career Researchers (ECRs):

  • A Best Early Career Researcher Presentation Award (nominees selected by the committee, with a dedicated parallel session for presentations)
  • An informal ECR-focused conference session on the morning of the second day
  • A dedicated table for early career researchers at the welcome reception on the first evening

We warmly encourage early career researchers in the EuBioNet network and in general in the bioeconomy domain to submit their work and take advantage of these opportunities.
