The final international digital conference of the project BIOECO-R.D.I. – Bioeconomy research driven Innovation, supported by the Interreg ADRION Programme is dedicated to the bioeconomy opportunities and local networks of innovation in the Adriatic Ionian Region.

On Friday December 4^th, invited speakers will explore the regional strategies for promoting the market uptake of bioeconomy products while project partners will present the project’s main achievements and results showing their work and tools created throughout the project and focusing on key lessons for the exploitation of the bioeconomy potential in their regions.

On November 30 and December 1, the next POWER4BIO online cross-visit to South Bohemia, Czech Republic, will take place. On the first day, high-level speakers from Czech ministries, administration bodies, industry and academia are going to present and discuss the political and economic support of bioeconomy, research and education activities in the Czech Republic and South Bohemia. Several projects and initiatives will give an introduction to their activities in the field of bioeconomy, also the Bioeconomy Platform for the Czech Republic will be explained to the participants.

The second day will focus on the practical part of bioeconomy and regional bioeconomic activities. Main examples of bioeconomy practice within the Czech Republic and South Bohemia will be presented as well as the practical activities and results of the work of the Regional Bioeconomy Hub (RBH) of South Bohemia. There will be a short movie presenting three good examples of bioeconomic practice within the region and main outcomes from RBH meetings.

Waste valorisation in a circular bioeconomy process

The Interreg ADRION project BIOECO-R.D.I. and CERTH are organising a matchmaking event with the participation of experts from the BIOECO-R.D.I consortium and beyond to give insights about the current status of waste valorization in a circular bioeconomy process at the Adriatic – Ionian level and to further increase dialogue between stakeholders in order to exchange and promote  innovative practices, keys for successful business cases, value chain’s products and applications and supporting policies.

Due to climate change and increasing consumer awareness, the biosurfactant field has been developing fast the past five years. We invited prominent speakers from both the industry and academic world to discuss these latest developments with you. Biobased surfactants can be produced through different processes. They are used in a variety of products and industries. In the first International Conference on Biobased Surfactants we invite researchers interested or active in all areas of this broad and growing field. A good balance of academic and industrial participants is expected.

The conference includes further a virtual visit to the Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant, one of the best equipped pilot plants, as well as a virtual visit to the beautiful historic city center of Ghent. In addition, the possibility for partnering will be offered.
